Brandenburg Ensemble to play in Young
Clifton House & Gardens to host event
Clifton House and Gardens outside Young will host the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra’s Brandenburg Ensemble for a “Rare Italian Masterworks” concert on November 19.
A first performance for the group in this region, the Brandenburg Ensemble offer a rare, intimate experience and a repertoire featuring works by Monteverdi, Vivaldi and other Italian masters, including Barbara Strozzi.
The ensemble performs on period instruments and comprise Josie Ryan (soprano), Melissa Farrow (flute), Matt Bruce (violin), Anna McMichael (violin), Marianne Yeomans (viola), Jamie Hey (cello) and Tommie Andersson (theorbo).
Tickets are $55 and include a pre-concert complimentary glass of prosecco from Freemans Vineyards accompanied by cheese and antipasto plates from 1pm. The concert starts at 2pm sharp.

In its first year of operation Clifton House & Gardens is firmly established as an attractive venue located in the Hilltops Region.
Once one of the original pastoral properties in the region, the beautiful stone homestead and stone stable complex are flanked by ten hectares of manicured gardens.
The performance of the Brandenburg Ensemble not the first musical event to be hosted at “Clifton”. There have been a number of Country Music luminaries perform already, and popular local rock and roll band the “Phat Boys” are booked during the National Cherry Festival which this year will be held on December 1, 2 and 3.
